Data Deletion Instructions

How to remove South West Georgia Homecare's access to our Facebook Page and Instagram Professional account, and how to ask us to delete the Meta-derived records our Media Command Center keeps.

Last updated: October 2026

What this page covers

These instructions apply to the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) connection used by SWGA's Media Command Center to publish and review content on the agency's own Facebook Page and the Instagram Professional account linked to it. It does not cover our LinkedIn connection, and it does not cover information families or caregivers submit through this website — see our Privacy Policy for that.

What the Meta connection stores

When an authorized SWGA administrator connects the Media Command Center to Meta, we keep only what is needed to operate and be accountable for that connection:

  • Account identification. The Facebook Page name and its Meta account ID, and — when one is linked — the Instagram Professional username and account ID. These identify which SWGA-owned account the connector is permitted to act on.
  • Access records. Which permissions were granted, when the connection was made, when it was last confirmed to still work, and whether publishing, performance reporting and comment retrieval have each been verified with Meta.
  • Connection activity. Which authorized SWGA staff member connected or disconnected an account, and when, so that account and content changes are attributable to a person.
  • Published content records. The caption or post text SWGA published, the post's external identifier and public web address, the requested and actual publish times, and how Meta confirmed the post.
  • Performance data from Meta. Numbers Meta reports about SWGA's own posts — for example views, reach, clicks and reactions — each stored with the period it covers and the time we retrieved it.
  • Public interactions. Comments and mentions left on SWGA's own posts, including the author's public display name and the text, plus any reply SWGA posted.

Access credentials are held server-side in an access-controlled store, are never shown in a browser, and are never written into logs or activity records.

What SWGA does not intentionally collect

  • Personal profiles, friend lists, or personal feed content of any individual.
  • Private messages. Messaging permissions are not requested by this connector, so direct messages are neither read nor stored.
  • Access to visitors' personal Facebook or Instagram accounts. The connector works only on accounts SWGA owns and is authorized to manage.
  • Advertising audience building, data sales, or use of this information for unrelated marketing.
  • Health, client, applicant, caregiver or billing information — those live in SWGA's care management systems, not in the social connector.

Please do not send health information through social media

The Meta connection is not a secure healthcare channel and is not intended for the submission of health, client or financial information. Public comments are public: anyone can volunteer sensitive details there, and we cannot control or guarantee what a person chooses to write in a public comment on one of our posts.

If you or a family member needs to share care details, please use SWGA's secure channels — call (229) 595-2921 or use the contact form at swgahomecare.com/contact. Our staff are instructed never to include health, client, applicant or financial details in a public reply, and to point private questions to those secure channels instead.

Option 1 — Disconnect from the Media Command Center

An authorized SWGA administrator — the CEO, or a leader granted connector administration authority — can end the connection without contacting anyone:

  1. 1. Sign in to the Media Command Center.
  2. 2. Open the Meta (Facebook & Instagram) connector.
  3. 3. Select Disconnect for the channel you want to end.

When you disconnect, the stored access credentials for that channel are deleted immediately, the account is marked disconnected with a timestamp, the disconnection is recorded, and the connector can no longer call Meta's API — no publishing, no performance reporting, no comment retrieval.

Facebook and Instagram are handled separately. Because Instagram is reached through the Facebook Page authorization, disconnecting Facebook also disconnects Instagram. Disconnecting Instagram leaves Facebook connected.

Disconnecting removes our ability to keep accessing Meta data. It does not by itself erase records we already retained — see the last section for how to request that.

Option 2 — Revoke access from Meta settings

The administrator of the SWGA Facebook Page can revoke this app's access directly in Meta, at any time and without our involvement:

  1. 1. On Facebook, open Settings & Privacy → Settings.
  2. 2. Open Business integrations (in some accounts labelled Apps and websites).
  3. 3. Find South West Georgia Homecare and select Remove.

Removing the app ends its access on Meta's side immediately, so any credentials SWGA still held stop working. The same integration controls govern the linked Instagram Professional account, so removing the app there also ends Instagram access.

Deleting credentials is not the same as deleting retained records

Disconnecting does

  • Deletes the active Meta access credentials for that channel.
  • Stops all future Meta API access for that channel.
  • Marks the connection disconnected, with a timestamp.

Disconnecting does not

  • Erase published-post records already stored.
  • Erase performance figures already retrieved from Meta.
  • Erase comments already retrieved, or connection activity records.

SWGA keeps a record of what it published and when, and who authorized account changes, for accountability, safety and business-records reasons. If you want any of those retained records deleted, tell us and we will review the request, tell you plainly what we are able to delete and what we must retain, and confirm what was done.

Send a deletion request

To request deletion of Meta-derived records, reach us by email or phone and we will respond directly — no automated queue:

Please include which channel your request concerns (our Facebook Page or our Instagram Professional account), what you would like deleted — for example comments retrieved from a specific post, performance figures for a date range, or a published-post record — and how you would like us to confirm the outcome.

Other ways to stay in control

You can change your cookie choices for this website at any time, and read how we handle information submitted directly to SWGA in our Privacy Policy. If this connector changes in a way that affects what is described here, we will update this page and its "last updated" date.
