About Us

Rooted in Southwest Georgia, built for the families who live here

We are a locally owned, non-medical in-home care agency headquartered on Dawson Road in Albany — not a franchise call center three states away.

Our Story

A higher standard of home care for Dougherty and Lee counties

South West Georgia Homecare began with one family's frustration. Coordinating care for a grandmother in Albany meant waiting weeks for a match, chasing an out-of-state office for answers, and meeting a different caregiver almost every week.

We built the agency we wished existed: local coordinators who answer the phone, caregivers who live in the same counties as their clients, registered-nurse oversight on every plan, and documentation families can actually see.

Today we serve seniors and recovering adults across Dougherty, Lee, Worth, Terrell, Mitchell, Calhoun, and Baker counties — and we measure ourselves on how quickly we answer, how long our caregivers stay, and how well families sleep at night.

Our Core Values

Five commitments that shape every shift

Integrity

We quote honestly, document accurately, and tell families the truth even when it is not the easy answer.

Respect

Clients direct their own care. We follow their routines, preferences, and pace — not our convenience.

Dignity

Privacy during personal care, proper names, and a voice in every decision about their own home.

Excellence

Nurse-reviewed plans, ongoing training hours, and supervisory visits that verify quality in person.

Community First

We are Southwest Georgia neighbors hiring Southwest Georgia caregivers, invested in this region long-term.

Leadership & Care Management

Nursing supervision and hands-on local management

Care plans are clinical documents. Ours are written and reviewed by a registered nurse, then managed day to day by coordinators you can name.

How we protect the person in the chair

Rigorous caregiver vetting

National and Georgia criminal background checks, motor vehicle records, drug screening, license verification, and a minimum of two verified professional references before a first shift.

Ongoing paid training

Annual training hours in personal care technique, transfers and fall prevention, infection control, dementia communication, and emergency response — all paid.

Family communication standards

Documented shift notes, a named coordinator you can reach directly, scheduled progress calls, and same-day notification of any change in condition.

Supervisory quality checks

In-home supervisory visits during the first two weeks of service and on a recurring schedule thereafter, with care plans updated as needs change.

If a caregiver match isn't right, tell us and we will replace them — no penalty, no awkward conversation.
